Niyama / closures (fire)

Caps refers to fire which arises from an intense practical alchemical furnace. If the practice is set solid, will mobilize enough energy to burn off all the impurities which prevent us from connecting with the subtle part of our being. Somewhat tapas is discipline, austerity, because we cannot establish a true discipline without the removal of the superfluous and anecdotal. Writes Julian Peragón Arjuna.

Fire

The problem with discipline is that we have internalized it as duty, what "needs to be done" to follow a certain path. But it is clear that a discipline that is installed from outside to inside does not have much scope. It is the same with music; If there is no passion, discipline, if any, only can lead to a virtuosity. Interestingly introduce a new hue, interpret tapas as the passion which helps us to secure a stable discipline. It is clear that this passion will have to be supported by the will, that quality so bad press has today.

The will It is a State of firmness of the soul that allows you to not be shaken by the vagaries of the mind, for the indulgence of the character, in short, by the randomness of the circumstances. Persist is necessary to climb a Summit or remove water by digging a well. I'm not saying that life has to carry it will, but there are moments of firmness which should sustain and others of abandonment that must be allowed. In a river you have to know when you have to swim and when you let yourself float.

It is true that the will depends entirely of self-help and the cultivation of a record. Now, how accomplished is the passion? How you do it you are passionate about yoga or fall in love with you music? We all know that passion come or not come, and when it comes to not know when they will leave. Does not rely on us, or at least not completely. This relationship between will and passion is curious. An excess of will could smother the passion, and an unbridled passion be hardly manageable. There ought to be a good dance between male and female aspects of our psyche. It will serve to give the daily push that allows us to get to practice, or to do whatever it takes. But once the fire has ignited, as no need to stoke the fire more.

The strength of curiosity

But we said that passion could not program it, is things of gods. However, if we can create the conditions so that it is easier. If the child had no curiosity would not be skirts of his mother. When the mystery wins pulse security, child falls to the dark cellar or climbs to dangerous loft and opens the trunk of lost treasures. We could say that it is the strength of the curiosity that moves science to unlock the secrets of the universe.

I think that the honest starting point in practice is to understand that we are potential, we are actually part of a vital project individual and collective. To put it in other words, we are in the middle of evolution. If our starting point is that seed that aspires to be, tapas is input, this curious to see what that seed will be transformed. But as the gardener knows, this flower needs fertile soil, periodic water, sunlight and air. The Sun and the rain is what we provide in our practice of yoga. We have released in the past beings that remind us the realization that awaits potential way in us.

Our practice to have success, Patanjali tells us, this has to be permanent, present in our daily lives. We can not practice from time to time, or only when also the desire, or when we feel in a special status. The practice is a discipline that requires "effort" because the nature of the mind is unstable and tends to sprawl. This practice continued and uninterrupted has to bear in mind that there are two enemies: one external which makes up our everyday life in a complex world full of limitations; and another inmate who made up our own inertia, routines, and attachments. For both cases, is feedback, they knit together, are recreated one to the other. A lack of perspective makes us start a practice enthusiastically trying to get quick results but do not tell that these two enemies are lurking.

Meramente rescatar la importancia en el yoga de la ascesis by means of which the body is purified in depth. Asceticism aims to produce in the body in the mind is equanimity and emotions is detachment: a State of reduction of natural impulses and attachment to pleasure. As we know body and mind are supportive.

Remove bodily tensions through strenuous exercise, remove toxins from our body through the practice of fasting, descondicionar mind with meditation going out, if possible, closer to our essence.
