Shankya, the essence of the yoga

The Shankya is probably the oldest Indian Orthodox philosophies. In it are collected and adapted most ancient cults of the India of the feminine and masculine, which elaborates the concepts of Purusa and Prakriti, the two universal entities: consciousness and energy. Writes Chandra Maya Ten Querol.

It's a dualistic and realistic system that dispenses with the concept of God, their fundamental difference with Yoga, which is why devotional incorporates into his practice the concept of personal God as the highest of the human being, although it disappears with the world and the soul individual in every manifestation.

Capila It is the mythical founder of the Shankya, a path of knowledge or "jnani yoga", but the Shankya Sutras within reach belong to a much later text, the Shankya Sutras of Iswara Krishna. In it is represented the human being with the metaphor of the blind with an invalid on the shoulders. The blind man is the activity or Prakriti, and the invalid consciousness that directs it. Prakriti is the essence of nature, or pradana, and Purusa the consciousness. Also used the metaphor of the dancer; without Viewer lets dance: Prakriti is activated by Purusa.

When yoga is practiced, it is convenient to know its metaphysical principles, the why is to meditate. Every feeling, emotion or thought is a superimposition on the being and its categories. Meditation seeks to stop the thoughts so that consciousness or Purusa, with nothing to illuminate, with nothing so identified, take consciousness of its true nature, is free from the prison of Prakriti and its limitations.

The Shankya incorporates the concept of gunas: slits, the activity element; Tamás, the mass element; and satva, item intelligence, they are the essence of Prakriti. The articulation of these three types of vibration you will give birth to all entities of existence, from mind to matter. They are the three threads that form the rope of existence, beating in the cosmic Mahat. The initial singularity of this demonstration that unfolds from the big bang in the 25 categories of Maya, or upadis -going to incorporate the rest of Indian philosophies - are the limitations to which subject Purusa is seen and which aims to uproot to take consciousness of its true
nature: consciousness and eternal existence.

Purusa, as our awareness, enlightens Prakriti, the manifest world, and to illuminate it is identified with it and suffer the evils inherent in matter: the evolution and change, disease, death...

Since the mind and body work together, meditation consists in free from disturbances of ego consciousness, responding to the mind as the carriage to the Coachman, following the path of the Tao or noble course of things.

When the conscious will is directed towards the universal, blends the ego and the universal categories of being are perceived: fullness, certainty, and bliss. It is thanks to this that being can travel unimpeded.
