Light of Scripture: Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad
We will publish in the next few weeks Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad complete with the first chapter of the verses ´kārikā´ of Gauḍapāda, master of the master of Adi Shankaracharya, on such Upanishad. Today the introduction and mantras 1 and 2. Translation and notes by David Rodrigo, traditional teacher of Advaita Vedanta and meditation on the self
Upanishad is all that that us reveals the truth Supreme-that the be individual ´jiva´ and the be unlimited ´Brahman´ is one and it himself, without differentiation, or external or internal-, in any language, writing, culture or religion or absence of all this (silence).
The Upanishads they take one form sharp in the final part of the Vedas or Vedanta.
The Vedas ()Rig-veda, Yajur-veda, SAMA and Atharva-veda) are the writings sacred classical in the India.
The non-permanent or ephemeral part of the Vedas is the ritualistic. These rituals or Karma ´acciones´ facilitate the obtaining of those objects desired in this world and in the more beyond. A time the wish is has satiated, i.e., is understands that never is will satisfy through the experience of objects, you see clearly it fair of vacuum existential that is run after the happiness ephemeral and limited of them objects, here and in the more beyond, in the sky; and only want to know the truth that only you sense you have the heart pure.
And only to the of heart pure is you appears the good Guru: who removes by full, of a time and for always, here and now, the cause of root of all suffering, the ignorance of the truth of one same and of all.
Then, listen to that of pure heart, reflects, understands, meditates, removes the veil of ignorance that hides it and projected him as the crumbs himself and immediately shines in itself and for itself what is, without more, his own being.
And what is the happiness incomparable we all seek in objects like donkeys after tied carrot always a little further, after I do not know what, and after that and then...
Mandukya Upanishad It is the shortest, only twelve mantras, of the top ten Upanishads: Isha, Kena, Katha, Prashna, Mundaka, Mandukya, Taittiriya, Aitareya, Chandogya and Sacred.
In the tradition it is said माण्डूख्य एकम् एव अलम् मुमुक्षूनम् विमुक्तये māndūkyam ekam eva mumukṣūnam vimuktaye alam: "for the mumukshus (who has quite clearly in its vital objective: ´yo don't want more crumbs of pleasure and life.)" (Yo sólo deseo la Libertad total-Moksha-, la plenitud, lo ilimitado, la eternidad, la Verdad y nada más´) Mandukhya is sufficient. " (Muktika Upanishad)
Upanishad It literally means "sit with the Guru". The message of the Upanishads -How to remove completely your fundamental ignorance, about yourself, and so autoreconocerte in your fullness and leave identification with the shadow of you same-only reveals himself to the pure heart has also total devotion to his Guru, to the Scriptures that this teaches you)Upanishads(, etc.) and to the Dios that this le shows in the cave of his heart and in the heart of all those beings.
Don't be afraid to Guru. The Guru is a reflection of you same. Your creation.
To the understand the teaching of the Upanishads or Vedanta differentiation disciple, Guru, writings, Dios, universe vanishes into the truth, what is and shines by itself, eternal, unlimited, full, free.
And, from there, from the be of the universe whole, being the universe whole, one and indivisible, immutable, ves, do and live the come and splitting of your life without confused the moon with the multiplicity of moons reflected in oceans, seas, rivers, lakes and puddles rotten. And you will bow down eternally facing the body of you same in the personification of the power of the Guru in your Guru, the writings and Dios to show the road to which come.
That is the meaning of life: the self-realization of oneself and of everything, one and the same, immutable, full, free, eternal, spring of happiness, existence and knowledge.
All the others in the life is a preparation, a maturation. To ride! And not you stop while beech road, while has duality (differentiation, limitation, become, come, Act, experience and leave is).
Omityetdakshramidan sarvaṃ tasyopavyakhyanan bhavadbhavishyaditi sarvamonkar & bhutan. Tadapyonkar & yachchanyattrikalatitan || 1 ||
hariḥ om | omityetadakṣaramidaṁ sarvaṁ tasyopavyākhyānaṁ bhūtaṁ bhavadbhaviṣyaditi sarvamoṁkāra eva | yaccānyattrikālātītaṁ tadapyoṁkāra eva | 1 |
All of this is the word OM. Then [in Mandukya] explanation. Everything is perceived in the past, present and future is nothing more than OM. What is more there of them three times also is only OM.
सर्वं ह्येतद् ब्रह्मायमात्मा ब्रह्म सोऽयमात्मा चतुष्पात्॥ २॥
sarvaṁ hyetad brahmāyamātmā brahma so'yamātmā catuṣpāt | 2 |
All this is actually Brahman (the Supreme being, unlimited, without differentiation). This being ´ātman´ (my own being) is Brahman. This being ´ātman´ has four States of consciousness [of experience].
What is OM?
OM is "all that"-1. The universe whole, past, present and future. And also 2. All that exists beyond the three times and any other limitations: for space ´yo exist now in this room but no other espacio´ and subject ´yo exist in this person, ´yo´, and any other ser´.
It limited and it unlimited not is more than OM.
OM is Brahman: the Supreme being, one and the same; Existence, consciousness, happiness unlimited.
In the seventh heaven? Not. ayam ātmā brahma "this be (playing me the heart) is Brahman."
Your exist, right? And you know it right away, because Yes, without any doubt, because you are you, your own existence, right? That your own existence, that your be, not is more than Brahman, the existence itself, without cause, change or death; the same consciousness; the same happiness, without relying on having or not having objects, due to limited and ephemeral nature.
And the identification of your being with objects limited your physical and subtle - bodies - and, therefore, the lack of permanent experience of the fullness of your own being and of being everything, one and the same, fundamental ignorance and its expansion - the manifestation that we experience as Real dividing the indivisible, being-.
What is OM? And you me him questions! OM you're you.
"Ayam ātmā brahma"This being (touching my heart) is Brahman", is one of the four maha-vakyas ´grandes frases´ of the Vedanta normally cited in representing each of the four Vedas:
Prajnanam Brahma "Brahman is consciousness pure [without the differentiation, limitation, by the knowledge wrong of believing that the different objects of perception-my own be and the rest of beings-have existence own]."
TAT tvam asi "you're that."
(transmits the Guru)
AHAM Brahma Asmi "I am Brahman."
Ayam atma Brahma "this be is Brahman."
(it makes the disciple)
Maha-vakya ´Grandes frases´ is all phrase, is where is, in the Vedas or a graffiti facing your House, that you said that you are you and nothing more, that your be not is but the be. There are hundreds of maha-vakyas in the Vedas. And the rest of the sentences of the Upanishads, or avantara-vakyas ´frases secundarias´, serve so that you clearly understand the meaning of the maha-vakyas. You can thus meditate constantly on the same source of light up to deny the dark and confused vision of believing that reflected light - myself, my cuerpo-mente-is the light in me - the same, indivisible - light.
As soon as niegas by full your ignorance primary, not you are but the light that is and shines by itself same, it only that is known directly (तत्साक्षादपरोक्षाद् ब्रह्म tatsākṣādaparokṣādbrahma "Brahman is what is known directly.") (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.4.1): Pure consciousness - my own be-, without form in all forms and in their absence; Existence itself, without birth in all birth and death; Happiness itself, without object in all experience of pleasure and of pain.
But birth is born ignorant, ill. The Upanishads are the mother, embodiment of selfless love, the delivery, the psychologist of the eternity which loves you, caresses you, clothe you, protects you and you understand: "Oh dear, what's wrong is that you experience not being where there is only being." Understands that experience that you now feel and see being, reality, here and now, and stop suffering. Wake up of the dream pseudo-eterno of it ignorance primary raising you of it darkness to the light, of the confusion to it truth, of the suffering to it fullness, of the limitation to the freedom, of it death to eternity. Now you're aware only of two of the four States of consciousness that experience in your life daily. Let you explain them and understand them. It looks..."
