The summer school of Yoga Sivananda
This school of summer is an opportunity very special to deepen and complete your training as Professor or teacher of yoga and enjoy of a week of coexistence, teachings, health and joy in Madrid (Zaragoza), of the 26 of August to the 4 of September.
In the Summer school they will be taught four certified courses on topics that currently have taken much interest in the yoga community. It is an excellent way to continue our education. In addition, each day there are two conferences and meditations with Swami Sivadasananda, lots of practice of asanas and pranayama and excellent vegetarian food.
The summer school is open to all teachers of yoga who wish to renew both their personal practice and his teaching techniques. It is a unique opportunity to share a few days with teachers from different places, reaffirming the knowledge of Yoga and Vedanta, broadening perspectives of teaching, the yogic sadhana and sharing experiences under the spiritual guidance of teachers Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda.

“The pedagogy applied to the teaching of yoga could be defined as the study of the most appropriate way of transmitting knowledge and practice with the different resources that the yoga teacher has at its disposal.
It is not enough to perfectly know the technique of postures and have great erudition on philosophy to teach yoga.
None of this will produce optimal results if there is no good communication and if the teacher has not developed the sensitivity needed to capture the needs of the people you get to their classes.
Each practitioner or student comes to courses with different expectations. Some are looking for an improvement in their position or their general physical condition, other physical relaxation or mental stillness and also are those who follow the yoga as a path of evolution, self-knowledge and spiritual practice. The yoga teacher must have resources to understand these differences and Guide to each practitioner properly.
There are many factors that influence the quality of education:
- the Organization of the physical space of the class,
- the personal attitude of the teacher,
- their responsiveness,
- the verbal language used to transmit the teaching,
- non-verbal language through the eyes and body posture.
All these aspects make the pedagogical method and are as important, or sometimes even more important, than the skill or the theoretical knowledge of the yoga teacher.
Through these aspects we learn to get closer to students without losing the role of Professor, but not stiff or rigid, cleverly using humor and also the smile as a form of communication.

Perhaps more than a science, as it is in traditional teaching, pedagogy in the teaching of yoga can be considered an art. The art of combining personal sensitivity to the needs of the student with the resources that the Professor and thereby achieve the most perfect work possible.
I hope to address all these issues in a dynamic way together and analyze the typical situations that arise in the teaching of yoga, as well as particular situations that the participating teachers of the course have experienced in their classes".
