Sivananda Yoga

Based on the teachings of Swami Sivananda, this style of yoga is a more spiritual than physical exercise practice.

Each 90-minute class focuses on 12 positions and in the Sanskrit chants, practices of pranayama, meditation and relaxation.

Designed to transform and elevate human consciousness, the Sivananda yoga is based on five fundamental points of yoga: proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet (vegetarianism) and positive thought and meditation.

The great teachers of the Sivananda yoga were Swami Sivananda, the yoga of synthesis is the basis of the modern practice of yoga in the West, and his disciple Swami Vishnudevananda, who spread these teachings around the world.
