Do you want to know what the hammock is used in aerial Yoga Unnata®?

Used for improving postural awareness and alignment, to insist on the relaxation as a way to achieve flexibility, for the understanding of the bandhas. Check it out for yourself. Montse Lominchar writes.

Postural awareness and improvement of the alignment

In the ® Unnata aerial Yoga the hammock is used to improve postural awareness of students, relating the asana asanas of Earth air, helping them understand and integrate what they are trying to get in the traditional asanas of Earth, that are gaining prominence as the Unnata® Yogi in moving his practice.

Here's a practical example: Adho Mukha Svanasana / dog upside down

As professors or practitioners of yoga we know that what is called for in this asana is: you raise the buttocks managing the tailbone towards the sky, arms to stretch, which the sides and the column will lengthen and to keep your legs stretched as much as possible, trying to draw a V invested with your body.

But in practice many people sacrifice the elongation of the spine and sides, trying to stretch the legs, often by muscle shortening and others for lack of proprioception or conscience postural or simply because they do not end up understanding the message and lose the correct alignment.

What you get with this practice asana in the hammock is directing the tailbone upward thanks since fabric exerts a pull which allows you to stretch the column, the sides and arms by facilitating understanding, adjustment and alignment of Adho Mukha Svanasana. Once is carried out in the hammock is easy for the practitioner to reproduce this asana ashore and do so without risking their health and safety receive the comprehensive benefits of the asana.

He insists the relaxation as a way to achieve flexibility

Thanks to the support of a part of the body in the hammock, release or relaxing areas of tension with the help of the force of gravity and become aware of the muscles that contract, to achieve certain asanas and thus achieve differentiated areas to relax and the air in the traditional asanas of Earth can be encouraged to the practitioner.

Another example in the posture of Ustrasana / camel

Asks us what this position is a large expanse of column. This is achieved by relaxing and expanding the chest, throat and thighs on her previous face, while the buttocks, legs, back and neck muscles are contracted.

In the practice of the camel posture many Yogis do not end up relaxing the anterior face of the body and kept "resistance". They do not realize the simultaneous work of previous relaxation and subsequent action of the body, the yin and yang, which requires this asana, without ever reaching your true potential and the multiple benefits that Ustrasana gives us a level of physical strengthening and "freshness" of the back as well as influence in an evident and clear way about the Anahata chakra.

Get what Yoga Unnata® is to maintain the position of a passive form, so that the practitioner can explore what relaxing, or what is the same, what stretch and what activate or collapse. In addition counts with the effect of the force of gravity which helps to relax and achieve a passive stretch, greater flexibility and muscle stretching of the anterior face of the body.

Understanding of the Bandhas

At the beginning of my practice cost me much understand the realization and, of course, the energy benefits of the Bandhas. Thanks to the passive air Yoga Unnata® inverted postures I learned I have to "seek" to achieve the "void" or suction required in the practice of Mula Bandha and Uddiyana Bandha.

In the posture of Rear suspension of hip, You can see the vacuum getting by the force of gravity in the solar plexus, achieving a passive Uddiyana Bandha. Once have experienced you, seen, touched... it is very easy to find that feeling, because you know what you want and you can find it using your own muscles.

There are many other examples, as many as asanas, where the hammock helps us sometimes to relax, others to strengthen, other postural awareness and always to realign. That's what makes Yoga Unnata® on a great tool, a powerful support with which any teacher of yoga or practitioner thanks have to complete the experience in their yoga sessions.

One of the things that are looked up in an aerial Yoga session Unnata® is a correct alignment of the physical body to realign our 5 Koshas (layers or bodies): physical, mental, energetic, emotional and spiritual. Bodies never removed completely together. In some way, to "realign" our body, we focus, we can find no duality, neutrality; This unit all Yogi has as objective and goal.
