Interview with Parikshiti Mhaispurkar: "meditating will achieve a more powerful mind"
Parikshiti Mhaispurkar, known as Paresh, arrives in Spain to teach his workshop "The art of meditation", an experience of philosophy yogic and scientist that speaks to us then. It is an MadYoga for YogaenRed interview.
Paresh is Professor and member of the research team in Yoga Vidya Gurukul Institute for Research & Education in Yoga & Naturopathy in Nashik, Maharashtra, India; academic scientist at the Howard Florey Institute of Medicine and Experimental Physiology at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He conducted several seminars on yoga and meditation in India, Australia and Europe.
How long have you been teaching meditation?
I was born in a spiritual family and it has been part of me since my childhood. I used to practice meditation with mantras, it is the type of meditation where you meditate with sound "Om". This practice affects the third-eye chakra and is located in the pituitary gland. When you are in balance also other glands are balanced.
I started doing different types of practices. Mindfulness is one of them and Swarayoga, which is similar and where to collect their bases. Swarayoga is the type of meditation that is based on the concentration of breathing and getting better control in emotional disturbances and the thought process. Swarayoga practice expands the consciousness, creating a more powerful mind.
What calling a powerful mind?
A powerful mind is a mind stable, reliable, and free of all negative thoughts, fears and phobias. A mind that has the ability to enjoy the moment to the fullest. A powerful mind ready to face any challenge in his life. A powerful mind is able to achieve the three noble or divine values: Daya (compassion), Kshama (sorry) and Shanti (peace). And as a result improve creativity, intelligence, intuition, emotional control, the altruistic qualities and above all the sublime human qualities.
Is it possible for anyone to get this?
Yes, of course, is our original state. That's the way of the great Yogis, yoginis and all practitioners of yoga is called "the practice of recoil", because it is a journey that takes you back to your original state of Satchidananda, It means 'the true state of endless enlightenment' (the word in Sanskrit is composed of) Sat or truth, CHID or eternal and Anand or lighting). One has to walk on this path through the implementation of practices with patience and persistence.
We talk about two States: "So Hum" (which means I am the universal principle of creation that has created this whole game of life) and "Ko Hum" (that means who am I?). The yogic philosophy tells us that in the womb all we were in a divine yogic State of charm "So Hum", in the mentioned State of Satchidananda. But after our birth we are going missing that "touch of original form" to eventually end up in the State of "Hum Ko", full of dreams, disappointments and confusion. Eastern State "Ko Hum" brings with it doubts, uncertainty, pessimism, worry, and anxiety, while in the State of "So Hum" is the balance and wisdom, this is the State of consciousness amplified.
What you define as a higher State of consciousness?
Consciousness is a State in which you take the reins of the limits of the pseudo-consciencia, which is closely related to the ego of the "Hum Ko" State.
The term Yog or Yoga this derivative in its origin from the word sancrita Yuj, which means union. A persistent and patient practice of Yoga helps to be in union with the Universal consciousness, to take control of the pseudo-consciencia, which is the key to consciousness.
In all Universal Ego we are together, we are all at peace, knowledge and serenity. The yogic philosophy calls the latter State Samadhi, According to Buddha; This State is also known as Nirvana. All the experiences become yours, you become the master of all experiences and get the knowledge of the past, present and future.
Are there any benefits of a greater awareness for beginners or intermediate?
Yes, There are three States of consciousness. The first two States can be accomplished or experienced by all human beings. With a regular practice and an understanding of the fundamentals is possible to live these levels of consciousness.
First State: in this State, you get some amazing experiences and a deeper connection with your emotions.
Second State: applying the practices of meditation, you can enjoy a happier life, since it is in this State where you regularly get those moments of clairvoyance that creative people also experience.
There are artists who writing a poem or a book says: "Came Me only", and the question is: where did? This is the State where we access our creativity and in lucid moments when we connect with a higher level of wisdom.
Third State: the highest and not so accessible to the human being living in a materialistic society; I go on it more later during the retreat (see details below).
Do you think that it is important to know many types of meditation practices?
That is a personal decision, but I think that You should take the opportunity to learn different types of meditation and then continue with the practice with which you feel most comfortable. Start knowing more and will therefore grow more autoanalizando you.
Is it more important to understand the fundamentals of any practice, because if you understand the basics you'll have stronger roots and get better results.
